About me:

My name is Karen. I am a Speech and Language Therapist. I enjoy working with

young people and adults who have different ways of connecting and communicating.

I believe that all communication is valid, and I work to support people to express themselves in ways that feel authentic and empowering. My friends and family tell me I am a kind, funny and curious person. I like talking to other people about their interests, themselves and things they like to do in

their free time. I am a good listener and easy to talk to.

When we meet:

It is really important to me that you feel as relaxed as possible when we meet. I understand meeting new people / going to a new place can feel really hard. So please bring anything with you that makes you feel comfortable and safe.

• Let me know your preferred ways to communicate – all are valid!

• You can stim, fidget, take breaks, or use headphones anytime.

• You are never required to make eye contact, speak out loud, or sit still if it makes you uncomfortable.

• If something doesn’t feel ok to you, we can adapt – you are in charge of the pace and direction.

Things I like to do:

I really like Lego, swimming and rock music. I love walking my two dogs (my new puppy Milo and Clara my Sheepdog). I love spending time with my family.
