Peek Inside the Guide

Most training companies hide their information. We don’t.

This guide shows you exactly how the assessor pathway works, step by step.

The Career Path

We explain the journey from beginner → trained → working assessor. You’ll see the different places assessors work, what they do each day, and the skills you need to grow.

The Tool Matrix

All the tool names can feel confusing. We make it simple: ADOS-2 (watching how someone behaves), ADI-R (asking about early life), and DIVA-5 (asking questions about ADHD). You’ll learn when and why each is used.

Eligibility Checker

Not sure if you’re allowed to train? This guide clearly explains what Clinical Psychologists, SLTs, OTs, and other professionals need in the UK, US, and other countries. We also explain what to do if you’re almost ready but not there yet.

Sarah Phelan is a Clinical Psychologist and the Founder of Autism Services Group (ASG). She trains assessors and also works in real clinics every week, so she teaches what actually happens in real life—not just what’s in a book.

“When I started, the path wasn’t clear. That’s why I created this guide. ASG is a real diagnostic service, not just a classroom. We show you what really happens during assessments.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this guide really free?

Yes. We want to help more people understand autism and ADHD assessments. If you like our teaching, you can train with ASG later. But you don’t have to.

I am a Nurse / Social Worker / Allied Professional. Can I train?

Often, yes. The guide explains how different professionals can use the tools, and what kind of supervision and background knowledge you need. Requirements are a little different in the US and the UK, and we explain both.

Does this include online assessments?

Yes. The guide shows how assessments like the ADI-R and DIVA-5 can be done online, and how clinics now mix video calls with in-person sessions.
